About

Hi, I’m Erin Fitzgerald. I live in not-fancy Connecticut with my husband and my eleven year old daughter, but I grew up in Rochester, NY. I am not the voice actress, Rhodes Scholar or lacrosse player with the same name.

I write flash fiction, short stories, novellas, novels, and the very occasional poem. I got my BA and my MFA in fiction from Sarah Lawrence College a long time ago. (The photo on the front page sometimes is my undergraduate ID. I had to get a rubella shot before they’d let me enroll that year, which is why I look really pissed off.) While I enjoyed college and grad school, I do not get all worked up about whether or not other writers took the same route. There are more interesting things in the world.

I’ve received paychecks from writing in the fields of education and corporate relocation. I also teach writing. If you noodle around on Google long enough, you can find some things. You can also just ask.

I am the lead editor of The Northville Review.

I keep a collection of things relevant to my current project on Tumblr. Unless you’re trying to sell me something, I will probably follow you back.

If you have read this far, feel free to add me as a friend on Facebook or Twitter or Google+. I can also be found at Fictionaut from time to time.
